Formal Personal Letter Format: Basic Format

A formal personal letter is written to communicate with a client or company. A formal personal letter format is similar to that of the format of a regular personal letter, but with three differences.

  1. Subject line: Formal letters must contain an emboldened and underlined subject line to indicate urgent formal matters.
  2. Body paragraphs: You must keep the body paragraphs short, clear, and to-the-point. Make sure not to exceed more than one page.
